"Aku Net-Zero Hero" Campaign

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges the world faces today. Its impacts are becoming increasingly evident, affecting extreme weather events, food security, and the quality of our lives. To tackle this, every individual must play a part in reducing the carbon emissions generated by daily activities. "Aku Net-Zero Hero" is a campaign aimed at raising awareness and encouraging individuals to calculate their emissions, reduce emissions through lifestyle changes, and offset emissions from both specific activities and daily routines, thereby promoting a low-emission lifestyle.


The “Aku Net-Zero Hero” campaign emphasizes an approach that is easy to follow for various segments of society, including through daily or weekly action challenges, simple education on carbon footprint calculation, and strengthening the narrative that every individual can become an agent of change without having to wait for major policies or expensive technologies.

Campaign Goals

We launched "Aku Net-Zero Hero" with the following objectives:

  1. Encourage individuals to actively participate in reducing their personal carbon footprint through simple, measurable steps.
  2. Provide clear understanding of the importance of emission reduction that can be implemented consistently in daily life.
  3. Promote the principle of reduce first, offset last, meaning to focus on reducing emissions first through energy consumption, transportation, and waste management, and only offset emissions that are unavoidable.
  4. Facilitate collaboration between corporations and individuals to create a greener and more sustainable world together.


Piloting the Campaign: Collaboration with Bank Mandiri, Jejakin, and Pertamina NRE

This campaign started with a pilot in the Livin' Planet by Bank Mandiri, a region with great potential for implementing low-carbon energy solutions. We are deeply grateful to Bank Mandiri, Jejakin, and Pertamina NRE for their support in the initial phase of this campaign.


Through this collaboration, we aim to raise awareness and provide the necessary tools for more individuals to actively contribute to the transition toward net-zero carbon. 


Steps to Participate in the Campaign


​"Aku Net-Zero Hero" gives you the opportunity to make a change, starting with small steps that can be done in your daily life. This campaign is designed with easy-to-follow steps that anyone can adopt:

Calculate Your Carbon Footprint

Start by knowing how much carbon is generated by your daily activities. Use Carbon Calculator to calculate your carbon footprint, such as energy consumption at home, transportation usage, consumption habits, and waste management. This calculation will give you a clear idea of where reductions can be made.

Reduce Your Emissions

Once you know your carbon footprint, the next step is to reduce your emissions. This can be done through simple actions like:

  • Saving energy at home by using energy-efficient appliances and turning off unused electronics.
  • Switching to low-emission transportation options such as cycling, walking, or using public transport.
  • Reducing consumption of single-use items and choosing more sustainable products.
  • Managing waste by recycling and reducing food waste.

Offset Your Emissions ​

After reducing your emissions, the final step is offsetting, balancing the emissions that are unavoidable. You can choose to support projects that reduce or sequester carbon. By offsetting, you are helping support long-term emission-reducing projects while balancing the emissions you still generate.
